The purpose of this study is to examine how the physical environment of subway stations in Seoul changes depending on seasons and how the comfort of passengers changes. The survey was carried out in summer, transitional season, and winter. Six subway stations in Seoul were selected and a survey was carried out targeting subway passenger. At the same time, the physical environmental factors in subway stations were measured. The questionnaire of comfort was consisted of five environmental factors; thermal, air, light, acoustic and overall comfort. As a result of the physical quantity measurements in subway stations, high relative humidity in the summer and low air temperatures were recorded. The concentration of particulate matters (PM) and the carbon dioxide satisfied the indoor air quality maintenance criteria for subway stations in South Korea. As a result of the comfort evaluations, most of respondents felt 'neutral' or 'comfortable' for environment in subway stations and there were gender and age differences on the comfort evaluations.
