Polarimetric Radar Signature in Multi-Cell Thunderstorm on June 20, 2008

摘要

On June 20th 2008,a multi-cell thunderstorm developed in Pingtung plain when the Western North Pacific subtropical high dominated Taiwan.It was observed by S-POL that mesoscale boundary formed over coastal area of Kaohsiung and propagated inland.The mesonet data showed boundary layer was moistened significantly.Pingtung sounding at 11 am showed a well-mixed layer below 1 km high,and an inversion layer located from 2 to 2.8 km in altitude.
