Image Analysis for Ultrasound Temperature Monitoring during Hyperthermia Treatment

Microwave thermotherapy is an oncological treatment that hinges on a careful dosage of microwave heat energy into a tissue. Possible deficit of the heat energy leads to an insufficient therapy, while the oversupply damages health tissues. Therefore, the tissue temperature monitoring represents a crucial part of the thermotherapy. We describe a pilot setup for noninvasive monitoring of temperature distribution. The setup includes both hardware and software parts.
