In the world of networks, efficciency and cost control are key to success. The current economic climate means that the need to get more out of your existing networks whilst handling new data services is of paramount importance. It no longer makes sense to have separate platforms to deliver separate functions; it's neither cost-efficient, nor convenient. This convergence is taking place at all levels of the network: between voice and data networks, packet and circuit switching, and across infrastructure technologies and services. Convergence is being driven by cost and a widening range of new applications.
