In this study, the preparation of zeolite catalysts for dehydrogenation and isomerization of n-butane to produce isobutene was investigated. H-SSZ-35 type zeolite, having one-dimensional cage-type channel structure, was hydrothermally synthesized with cis, cis, cis-N-methyl-hexahydrojulolidinium hydroxide as structure-directing agent (SDA). We found that Cr catalyst supported on H-SSZ-35 showed high activity for the dehydrogenation and isomerization of n-butane to isobutene, and maintained the activity for 6 h.
