In the present paper, necking and wrinkling phenomena that appear during deep-drawing and tube hydroforming processes are investigated. These phenomena are considered as instability ones. Necking and bursting are described using the linear perturbations technique applied to the local equilibrium. For the bursting modeling the analysis has been developed in the 3D case to account for the hydrostatic pressure. The defects associated to wrinkling and buckling are described using the bifurcation theory based on the deformation energy. The techniques and the related constitutive equations accounted are presented. Numerical predictions are given as illustrations in deep drawing and tube hydroforming.
