This paper presents some developments of finite element explicit formulation for simulation of bulk metal forming processes. A new formulation based on the so-called split algorithm allows us to use linear triangular and tetrahedral elements in the analysis of large plastic deformations without undesired volumetric locking. The new formulation has been implemented within the explicit dynamic formulation in the finite element code Stampack. The algorithm of the coupled thermo-mechanical analysis and thermo-mechanical constitutive model extend the possibilities of the code on bulk metal forming. Numerical examples illustrate bulk metal forming applications of the finite element program and developed algorithms.
