摘要

Durability of fiber-cement roofing products is assessed by accelerated test and natural exposure. Critical parameters with respect to applications and related to the cementitious matrix are strength, hydric movement before and after carbonation and carbonation shrinkage. The long-range performance of PVA reinforcement fibers is expressed by stability in fiber strength, crystalliniry and molecular weight over time and after matrix carbonation. The results confirm fiber-cement as durable roofing product, comparable with traditional mineral roofing products, such as natural slates or clay tiles.
