Last years we have developed a teaching concept called "LIVING PICTURES", which is characterized by action based interactive learning modules. These modules support teaching as well as learning in several phases of the learning process. In this paper we discuss a class concept for such learning modules that serves as a basis for producing a lot of "Living Pictures". At first we will classify the characteristics of "Living Pictures" that can be realized based on the common class concept. Then we compare some realizations and present a method and an implementation of "Living Pictures" where the different learning modules can be realized by generating a control file. In that file developers only have to describe the blocks of the "Living Picture" and the related actions that can be shown and explored in the teaching process. The common classes controlled by that file realize the whole functionality of the learning module, In the third part we show how teachers can create new learning modules with a minimum of programming knowledge.
