The advent of low cost, light weight devices such as MEMS inertial sensors and fastrnmicro-computers allow for complete inertial stabilization, dynamic alignment, and signalrnprocessing for each "sight" and "weapon" at its location. Targeting and weapon systemsrncould immediately benefit from the use of MEMS in the alignment of systems such as thernpilot's and co-pilot's helmet sights to the target acquisition and night vision pilotagernsystems. Various systems on a helicopter where MEMS technologies can be of addedrnbenefit or function are identified.
