The gas discharge tube attached on surface of metal object is simulated by using PIC simulation method. The results show that because of the effects of float conductor boundary, the plasma in gas discharge tube is in non-uniform distribution .the farther the area is away from the float conductor boundary there, the higher the absorption rate. The absorption rate is highest in plasma areas where the incident EM wave enters the gas discharge tube and is lowest in areas near the float conductor and the two electrodes. So the high-absorption area is in the central part of plasma region in gas discharge tube.
