Intelligent residence is the intelligent system with adaptability and forecast, its realization goal is to connect relevant communication equipments with information 、home electric appliances and family security installation in family to a family intelligent system passing through the family technology of BUS line, to carry out keeping watch on 、controlling and family office management concentration or differently, and maintain harmonious and coordination of these family facility and residence environment. Residential intelligence is the inevitable result that IT technology infiltrates and develops to traditional building industry. So studying the design of intelligent residential system adopts development tendency of the social science and technology, It has certain feasibility and practicality in practice. The low-cost intelligent residential system based on MSP430F449 single chip machine of the design of the paper is composed of intelligent terminal 、 intelligent temperature 、intelligent humidity 、gas sensor and the upper computer. Intelligent terminal takes over 4-20 mA signal sent by general temperature 、CH4 gas 、humidity transformer, After data is handled simply, it will be sent to the upper computer through RS485 communication network; Additionally the intelligent terminal receives the controlling common sent by the upper computer through RS485 communication network and carries out the common; the terminal is designed with low-power consumption and low-cost principle. Intelligent temperature 、humidity and CH4 gas sensor ( Be called by intelligent sensor ) directly detect temperature 、humidity and CH4 gas, and through RS485 communication network directly connect with the upper computer, and send the data detected to the upper computer, at the same time accept and export the order sent by the upper computer. In addition, this intelligent sensor can still run independently, because it has the functions of data handling and realizes control algorithm etc. This intelligent sensor is designed with low-power consumption and low-cost principle. The upper computer realizes with personal computer, it has the functions of collecting data of every intelligent terminal and intelligent sensor 、 operating control algorithm, dispatching control order as well as realizing man-machine interaction.
