摘要

Intelligent Manufacturing Systems (IMS) concern production technologies andtechnology transfer on an international level between production generations. This report by the International Cooperative Research Program, concentrates upon the development of system construction and design in Japan as related to CAD, manufacturing information systems based on design requirements and models, and flexible manufacturing for the actual physical manufacturing. The approach taken in this study is one in which individual functional units are combined to form an interrelated system for manufacturing. Robotics, intelligent systems, and bionics as they related to this incorporated system are also discussed in this research.
