The limit of “Big Dipper I” CNSS using in the military domain

Big Dipper I compass navigation satellite system (CNSS) is an area navigation system that is investigated and exploited by our country. The system is made of three parts including three synchronous satellites, earth control center and many kinds of system terminals. It can cover the whole country area and boundary sea area without pretermission. And it has also three basic skills that are respective fast orientation, intercommunication and exactitude giving time. The system suits especially the command control and has the important effect in the way of information-based campaign command in our army. At the same time it has also limit in itself. In this article, five aspects are discussed such as its capability, its concealment ability, its weight, its movement and its precision. In the end the application range and the using time are gotten in the military domain and the direction notion is mastered in theory.
