摘要

As the demand for high-performance polymers increases,so does the need for new polymers with unique properties tailor-made for an ever increasing number of applications.To tailor polymer properties for specific applications,one often has to synthesize new momomers that impart the desired properties to the macromolecule.Ideally,the design and synthesis should be flexible enough that many momomers can be derived from a single core or building block.In this way,the features of the core molecule can be incorporated into many polymer systems,leading to a range of new materials.Despite the increasing demands for high-performance polymers,strategies for generating polymers with modular compositions and well-defined functionalities from common building blocks are still lacking.
