Pore size distribution effects in modeling membrane performance parameters, average sieving coefficient and area average water flux are studied. The standard cumulative distribution functions, Gamma, Lognormal, Normal, Weibel and Rayleigh are used as competitive models to describe the pore size distribution based on nonlinear regression of the rejection profile data. Preliminary discrete pore size distributions were extracted from rejection profiles of dextran and PEG using 10,000, 30,000 and 100,000 molecular weight cutoff (MWCO) polysulfone and cellulose acetate membranes.
