Interpenetrating polymer networks have been studied extensively as polymer alloys with synergistic physical properties of technological interest. Pernice and co-workers pointed out that some simulataneous interpenetrating networks (SINs) composed of polyurethane (PU) in combinationwith epoxy resin, polyacrylate, or unsaturated polyester resin could be applied in teh reaction injection molding (RIM) process to prepare the reinforced RIM (RRIM) materials, and since then, there has been increasing interest in using SINs as RIM materials.
