Analysis of a novel scheme of all-optical feedforward compensation on externally modulated optical CATV transmitter

In this paper, we present the principles of externally modulated optical transmitter, and we analyze the different ways of non-linearization compensation on the system. We especially emphasize on the key technologies related to the method of feedforward compensation, including the theoretical principles, system architectures, and factors affecting system performance (bias control, time delay etc.). The non-linearization of the transmitter can thus be reduced to CSO<-65dBc, CTB<-65dBc.
