Spatial Optical Modulator (SOM) : Samsung’s Light Modulatorfor the Next Generation Laser Display

A new type of diffractive spatial opticalrnmodulators, named SOM, has been developed byrnSamsung Electro-Mechanics for projection displayrnand other applications. A laser display in full HDrnformat (1920x1080) was successfully demonstrated byrnusing prototype projection engines having SOMrndevices, signal processing circuits, and projectionrnoptics.
