Application Study of FMEA in Concept Phase of Adding Modification Engineering

Adding & Modification Engineering (AME) is often used to improve weapon system's effectiveness. How to improve the level of AME effectively is a valuable question. This article discusses the method of FMEA applied in concept phase of AME. Firstly, it summarizes the characters of AME during concept phase. Secondly, from the basic task of technical science, it answers five basic questions about the application of FMEA in concept phase of AME, "Why, Who, What, When & How". Finally, it sums up the characters of this method and describes the effects using this method in an actual work.
