Introduction Dumesic and his co-workers reported a process to generate hydrogen from biomass-derived oxygenates by an aqueous-phase reforming (APR). Pt catalysts were identified as promising catalysts for APR process. However, its high cost makes the development of non-precious metal catalysts very important. Ni-B amorphous alloy catalyst has been widely studied in past decades and demonstrated better catalytic activity and selectivity than its crystalline counterparts. In this work, the Ni-B amorphous alloy catalyst (AP Ni) was prepared and compared with Raney Ni catalyst in APR of glycerol.
