In this paper, nano size silica was prepared via sol-gel method. Mono-disperse silica solution was synthesized by hydrolysis and condensation reaction of TEOS. Then the surface of silica was modified by the surface modification of A-151. Finally, carried out the enwrap reaction which using the surface modified silica as seed, AA and MMA as monomers, successfully synthesize stable nano silica water dispersion. The morphology of emulsion particles and the stability of emulsion were also characterized by TEM, FT-IR, TGA and XRD. Using this water dispersion, prepared stable SiO2-PUA emulsion which having better performance than pure PUA.
