We used the dissipative particle dynamics method to explore the thinning process of a liquid bridge transforming from macroscopic factors dominated to thermal fluctuation dominated.Both the inertial dominated thinning profile and the thermal fluctuation dominated thinning profile are of self-similar characteristics.Our simulations shows that the scaling factors are consistent with theoretical results.We concentrated on the transitional regime to explore the crossover behavior.In the transitional regime it is found that both the macroscopic factors dominated and microscopic factors dominated behaviors can be observed.The transition point is mainly dependent on the stochastic coefficient.With the conservative force not being considered the decrease of the stochastic coefficient results in wider thermal fluctuation dominated range, the transition point moves away from the breakup point.We found that the transition cannot be explained from the view of the stress fluctuation on the surface and the compressibility of the fluid.
