In the joint conference about the graphics education between Japan and China, every year, the many reports related to the drawing education including CAD are done. Therefore, to know whether or not these new study results is reflected in the teaching material for the practical education of both countries is interested. Then, in this study, the described contents of the textbooks of machine drafting used in these countries are examined in the light of that of the U.S. As the results, the obtained main conclusions were as follows: The main aim of the textbooks of both countries is set to fundamental description of the graphics and drafting standard, and the contents describing dream and future of the drafting engineer given to that of the U.S. are not included. In addition, those of both countries do not have a description about CAD, However, in that of the U.S., because a very detailed description of CAD drawing is appended to the graphics and manual drawing, intention to train the expert of CAD is felt. When judging from the contents about the common item of both countries, China's one is more polite than Japan's one, and becomes description which helps understanding of students.
