VLAN and Third-layer Switching Techniques

This paper discusses the reasons and necessity that campus netwrorks adopt the third-layer switching and VLAN (Virtual LAN) technologies, and the differences between the third-layer switching and routing. It also elaborates the concept of VLAN, its classification and characteristics, and the application of the third-layer switching technology in VLAN.
