In this paper, the working principle of CCD and its procedure of data processing are introduced, the principle of intersection measurement of CCD is described, and the coordinate calculating formula of cannonball is derived, at the same time, the measuring method of some important corresponding parameters is given. On the basis of the error theory, the factors that affect the precision of intersection measurement are analyzed, the relation between the position of intersection measurement and the measuring precision is studied. The conclusion is that the measuring system has the highest measuring precision under the condition of the two linear CCD array cameras' sight axes is perpendicular. According to precision analysis and the actual measuring condition, a method to select the best position of linear CCD is presented.
