Estimate of the impact of changes to a preventive maintenance plan on the operating safety of electrical systems

This article deals with a new method enabling to measure the value of changing the maintenance policy, and carry out a technical-economic calculation to achieve the best maintenance / reliability cost ratio. In this way, it is possible to determine the plan that will achieve the best compromise between cost and achievement of reliability objectives, and if necessary to vary the intervals and contents of maintenance tasks in order to meet predefined economic objectives. Then, thanks to this approach it is not necessary to wait for a new operating experience feedback cycle in order to chek wether or not the choice of a new maintenance plan was good or not.
