Petri Net models and Fault-Tree Analysis are employed for the reliability analysis of the spallation neutron source SINQ. The monitoring and shut-down system structure is investigated using a Petri-Net model. The reliability data are processed using a Fault-Tree model of the dominant part. Finally, suggestions for the improvement of system availability are made.
