摘要

RVC electrodes are adopted in the oxidation of 2-chlorophenol in flow-through cell.A reaction mechanism is proposed,in which chlorophenol is oxidised in several steps,mediated by OH radicals originating from water oxidation.In spite of the low electro-catalytic activity for organic oxidation,high reaction rates are obtained at this electrode material,due to a strong adsorption capacity towards organic compounds.A real waste (MSW landfill leachate) is also oxidised at the same electrode.Only the solutes easily adsorbed at the electrode surface are effectively oxidised.
