SIXTY YEARS OF ROCKET ENGINE TEST FACILITIES AT SNECMA

Snecma and its forebears have been designing, building and operating high performance rocket engine test facilities for sixty years. From the early pioneering test benches of the late 1940's up to the highly sophisticated and computerized facilities developed for the Ariane 1 program in the mid-70's, this paper will provide an outline of the technical and process evolution of these facilities.
