Permanent Access Cables for Low Cost FTTH Deployment

摘要

Passive outside plant costs is one of the key in cost reducing actual FTTH deployment This paper presents a typical model of urban infrastructure in which FTTH would have to be installed. Few cabling techniques like microducting, midspan access… are presented and analysed upon their respective costs installation. We then present a new way of cabling particularly well adapted to urban civil work configuration and thus reducing CAPEX. This is based on the permanent access concept which allows to reduce connectivity expenses and gives flexibility to operators to keep up with the broadband customer demand. A cable and the process to connect a new building / distribution node will be presented.
