It is common in modern aerodynamic platform design to have multiple design conditions in which thernplatform is expected to function properly. One of the solutions for this problem is designing the aerodynamicrnplatform using a morphing wing with varying sweep angles. A multidisciplinary design of the structure andrncontrol system for the platform at different flight conditions and different wing sweep angles poses anrnengineering challenge. The different design goals such as low weight, sufficient platform performance,rnadequate control system gain and phase margins and sufficient flutter margins, form an elaboraternoptimization problem with contradictory requirements and constraints. This work proposes an automatedrnnovel approach for solving the aeroservoelastic optimization problem by using the modal approach withrnmodal coupling techniques.
