We expected the improvement of the electron injection using TCNQ. In the OLED with a TCNQ-doped Alq3 layer, the electron injection was not improved. The electron injection of OLED with a TCNQ layer and Al cathode is much less than that without a TCNQ layer. However, the electron injection was improved only in the OLED with a very thin TCNQ layer and Al-Li cathode. Its EL efficiency was improved over twice as high as that without a TCNQ layer. We proposed two models to explain the increase of electron injection in this OLED.
