Facing the fierce global market competition, enterprises should make use of all kinds of advanced techniques to develop new products rapidly. One of these techniques is DFA (Design For Assembly), which emphasizes to fully consider all potential assembly problems during the designing stage and advocates using as many standard parts as possible to shorten the developing cycle of products. This paper examines the DFA problem, especially in the context of global manufacturing where suppliers may be distributed over the globe. By taking advantage of modern network and communication techniques we present a product-developing model to help modern enterprises to compete in the global market through combining DFA technique with agile manufacturing mode
