Frequency - and horizontal range - dependencies of compressional and shear lateral waves and a fundamental mode were investigated within the scope of the simple model of the shallow sea as an iso-velocity water layer on a bottom composed of fluid sediment layer and a homogeneous elastic half-space. It was shown, that in the investigated frequency region the fundamental mode exceeds the lateral waves. The experiment on a broadband pulse propagation evidenced, that below the critical frequency of the first mode the interference structure is formed by the fundamental mode and the shear wave.
