A NEW INSTRUMENTATION FOR OCEAN ACOUSTIC TOMOGRAPHY

A new ocean acoustic tomography (OAT) instrumentation has been developped at IFREMER. This modular instrumentation can be used as a source, a receiver or a transceiver (i.e. both source and receiver). Following a short description of the OAT requirements, the instrument modules will be presented: source, receiver, long baseline positionning system, low power high stability clock. Preliminary results from the first deployment of this instrumentation in the oceanographic experiment CAMBIOS illustrate the presentation.
