摘要

Structures which are of crucial importance for the society, like critical infrastructure, military facilities and power plants, need special considerations in design and conception and must satisfy very high safety standards. They have to withstand terrorist attacks, aircraft impact as well as explosion.Structures exposed to such high dynamic loads cause vibrations in the soil which propagate as shear-waves, compressional waves and combination of them like Rayleigh waves. The waves themselves initiate a change in the dynamic response of the structure. This phenomenon is called dynamic soil-structure-interaction (SSI) and has a considerable influence on the behavior of dynamically loaded structures.
