Often, the time to cover a specific topic during a training is strictly limited and trainers might be afraid that interactive elements and practical applications require so much time that the learning objectives cannot be met. However, to actively involve the participants in the learning process may only require very little extra time and certainly enhances the learning, as it increases the knowledge retention. It allows the participants of a workshop or seminar to reprocess new information and to convert it into knowledge, which can directly be applied to their everyday work. Furthermore, interactive elements provide the opportunity for an immediate feedback. The trainer can check directly if the participants can keep the pace of the lecture and whether certain aspects should be repeated, to ensure that all participants understand the particular content.
