摘要

Three aspects of the optical fiber draw process modeling are presented, in the domains of electromagnetism, thermics and mechanics. They constitute an operational way for the optimization of the draw process, and can deal with realistic geometries and material characteristics. The validation of each module is presented. Thermal radiation and mechanical modeling are emphasized as key steps in these simulation procedures. For the first time, the draw process has been modeled in a way consistent with experimental draw start-up and transient events.
