Using best practices to become smarter, stronger and more competitive

In 1985, the United States navy created the Best manufacturing Practics (BMP) Program, bringing together a task force of the best minds in the fields of engineering, computer science, technology and management. Its mission was to help U.S. companies, particularly those in the defense industry, respond to the biggest challenges facing the Maerican economy: decreased defense spending and increased competition from foreign markets. The BMP goal was clear: make U.S. companies stronger, more competitive and more globally minded.
