As the commercial use of the Info Highway increases at a dramatic rate, issues of network security become more important. Most of the technologies, such as encryption, needed to provide the network security are available; however, they have not been widely understood and deployed. Encryption can provide communication without any secure channel. This paper describes a methodology developed for Info Highway users to securely provide information from mission-critical database servers. To validate the methodology, an encryption Client/Server system was built to run with the Windows operating systems.
