Generalized Eigencoding for MIMO Ad-hocNetworks

We introduce a new noncooperative eigencodingrnalgorithm for MIMO Ad hoc networks. The algorithm performsrngeneralized waterfilling with respect to its transmit covariancernmatrix and the receiving node covariance matrix, both of whichrncan be estimated locally. The algorithm is first developed forrnnarrow band MIMO networks, and then extended to frequencyrnselective fading applications. A cooperative algorithm is alsorndeveloped as a benchmark in simulations. Simulation resultsrnshow that our noncooperative algorithm performance is close tornthat of the cooperative method and is much better than greedyrnoptimization.
