We propose a time-sharing based rate adaptationrnscheme for reliable multicastings over the fading channels inrnmobile wireless networks. Specifically, the proposed schemernaims at achieving high system throughput/spectral-efficiency byrndynamically adjusting the transmission rate according to thernvariations of channel state information (CSI) of all multicastrnmobile receivers. First, we formulate the time-sharing basedrnspectral-efficiency optimization problem to obtain the adaptivernrate policies. Also, we apply a concatenated error-correctionrnmodel for reliable mobile multicast. Then, we derive the solutionrnfor the optimization problem when the fading channels ofrnmulticast receivers are independent and identically distributedrn(I.I.d.). Also conducted is a set of simulation evaluations whichrnshow the performance superiority of our proposed adaptive raternpolicy over the worst-case SNR-dominating policy and the bestcasernSNR-dominating policy.
