Mesoporous silicoaluminophosphates with hexagonal organization were prepared from phosphoric acid, aluminum sulfate, and fumed silica or tetraethylorthosilicate as sources of silicon. Hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide was the structure directing agent. The material was characterized by X-ray diffraction, pore analysis, ~(29)Si nuclear magnetic resonance with magic angle spinning, elemental analysis and derivative thermogravimetry.
