According to the sealing conditions of mining hydraulic supporter, the geometric deformation and contact stress distribution of common bud shape ring and new-type of Y + O combined ring are anaJyzed by nonlinear finite element software ABAQUS. Results show that bud shape ring seals well at low pressure. Y + O combined ring has effective sealing at both high and low pressure. The maximum pressure gradient at inward stroke is less than the one at outer stroke of bud shape ring. Zero leakage can be achieved theoretically. At both outer and inward stroke the maximum pressure gradients of Y + O combined ring are greater than bud shape ring's. That means less hydraulic oil can pass sealing surface.
