Formation Flying (FF) missions are currently underrnstudy and they will take place in the next years. ThernFormation Flying Radio Frequency (FFRF) subsystemrnis the first intended metrology for some future FFrnmissions, such as the interferometric DARWIN mission,rnand even for rendezvous missions.rnThe ESA TRP activity on FFRF carried out duringrn2002-2004 demonstrated the potentiality and feasibilityrnof the technology and identified as remainingrndeveloping task a flight demonstration [1, 2, 3, 4]. Inrnthis context, the Swedish technology demonstrationrnmission PRISMA represents the opportunity to in-flightrndemonstration of the FFRF [5, 6].rnThe Formation Flying RF ranging subsystem is inrncharge of measuring the relative distance and anglesrnbetween spacecrafts with a high degree of accuracy andrnto process these measurements in order to obtain onrnboard the differential position and velocity.rnGMV and Thales Alenia Space have defined thernnavigation algorithms, then GMV has implementedrnthem and is currently in the validating phase. This paperrnpresents an overall description of the selectedrnalgorithms as well as the implementation approachrn(based on Matlab/Simulink development and use ofrnautocoding tools for obtaining on-board C-code).
