With the traditional techniques to measure the contact resistance of electric contact components based on off-line or the laboratory condition, by the examination of electric voltage and current or the bridge method, the on-line survey of electric contact resistance is quite different, which can be only fulfilled by those characteristic quantities being able to obtain or easy to obtain. This paper has established a temperature model and a monitoring contact resistance model for electric contact components based on the relationship of temperature and ohmic power loss. The temperature model is much convenient to simulate electric contact component in temperature distribution and change. The monitoring contact resistance model can fulfill on-line parameter identification. Simulation results show that it can effectively eliminate the influence of external parameters, closely track changes in contact resistance.
