Fluid dynamics interaction between refrigerated cabinets and Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioningrn(HVAC) terminal units has an important influence on global energy consumption of a store. Cabinets energyrnperformance is related to environment temperature and humidity, air velocity (module and direction) and thernpresence of radiating surfaces, such as radiating heating solutions. In this scenario, thermal load on cabinetsrncan be reduced by proper selection of HVAC technologies. Air conditioning energy demand can be alsornreduced by the use of HVAC technologies that are optimized for the specific store layouts. ComputationalrnFluid Dynamics (CFD) has been used to investigate interaction between cabinets layout and different HVACrnconfigurations and results are presented.
