Samples from an in-situ soil-mixed contaminated made ground were tested for their long-term durability performance. Seven soil-grout mixes were used which contained cement (1-6%) and some contained pfa (0-16%), lime (0-0.5%) and bentonite (0-0.5%). The behaviour at 5 years was compared with that at 0.2, 1.2 and 2.3 years. Comparisons were made between seven different mixes applied and between single and overlap mixes. In the light of the results obtained, recommendations as to the applicability of the ASTM test method to the samples tested are presented. Leachability and scanning electron microscopy of the tested samples were also carried out to attempt to relate observed changes in behaviour.
