ADAPTIVE DYNAMIC ROUTING IN MOBILE WIRELESS AD HOC NETWORKS UTILIZING ON-LINE LINK LIFE ESTIMATES

The current duration of a link in a mobile wireless ad hocrnnetwork (MANET) can be used for link stability assessmentrnthrough on-line remaining link life estimation. These estimatesrnimplicitly include the effects of true propagation mechanisms,rnmobility space geometry, power control mechanisms and otherrnphenomena that are ignored or simplistically modeled in otherrnmethods based on location or signal strength measures. In thisrnpaper we use such estimates for multipath/backup adaptiverndynamic routing, and compare its performance with arncorresponding multipath/backup version of DSR.
